Group Chat Names: Funny Names for Friends, Family & Work
Funny group chat names for friends, family, coworkers and classmates.

Quick answer
A good group chat name is an inside joke that everyone in the group gets. Use The Chaos Committee for close friends, The Fam Jam for family, or Meeting That Could Have Been an Email for colleagues. Keep work chat names clean, because screenshots travel, and choose something short enough to read in a notification.
Choose your options, then generate a group chat name.
Built at random from word lists for this topic, so some will fit better than others.
The group chat name is the first thing everyone sees, and a funny one gets renamed far less often. The best group chat names reference the group itself: where you met, an inside joke, or what the chat is really for (mostly memes). Use the group name generator, then browse group chat names by who is in the chat.

How to pick the right one
Match the humour to the group, since a family chat with grandparents needs a different vibe than a college chat. Add an emoji at the end to make it easy to find in a long chat list. Rename the chat for special events, like a birthday or a trip, to keep things fun.
Naming a group chat on different apps
The same name won't feel right everywhere. WhatsApp and Messenger chats are often personal, so in-jokes work well. Slack and Teams are usually visible to your employer, so it's best to keep channel names clear and professional. If you're using a chat for planning an event, include the event in the name. It makes the chat easier to find later, and new members understand it straight away.
