Dice notation explained
Tabletop games write rolls as XdY+Z: roll X dice with Y sides and add Z. For example, 2d6+3 means roll two six-sided dice and add 3, and 1d20+5 is a typical attack roll for a level 1 character with a +5 bonus.
Advantage and disadvantage (D&D 5e)
